John Kalman is growing up so fast! (Too fast?!)

Yesterday, Jack gave him his bottle and he held it all by himself... time flies.

Since I'm sure you'll ask, let me get this out of the way: No - we are not a family of nudists.
John Kalman just needed a little time to air out this afternoon, so I stripped him down and let him play on the rug. I just happened to have my camera handy when he decided to crawl for the first time! This video is long, but it's a good one.

I think the biggest fan of the Fa Family Blog is John Kalman himself.

Pullups

First of all, I know it seems like John Kalman only has one pair of pajamas and that he wears them all day every day. Well, it's true. Actually, he has four pairs of the same blue & orange striped PJs.

Anyhow, here he is trying to figure out how to open and close the warming drawer!

Clean floor

Jack and I have both regretted putting in our bright white floor.... it just gets so dirty so fast. However, it looks like I won't be having to do any mopping anytime soon.... we're just gonna put John Kalman to work!

Startin' em young

John Kalman takes his civic duties very seriously.   He spent ten hours a week at the Obama office and was very excited to vote for the first time! 

My little yogi

I know I've been saying it for weeks, but he really is on the verge of crawling. He can now get from his stomach back to his bottom (which I still haven't actually SEEN him do) and when he gets on his hands and knees, he rocks back and forth and back and forth like he's really got someplace to go.

His strength amazes me... his attempts to crawl land him in some pretty difficult yoga poses, which he can hold for MUCH longer than his mommy could. I looked at him the other day and he was doing a one-armed plank pose, which is like being in the top of a push-up, but only using one arm to do it. It's virtually impossible.

At the Playground

We had some beautiful weather last week, so John Kalman and I ventured out to the park. I don't know why it had not occurred to me to go sooner, but for whatever reason, it was our first time. We walked to Golden Gate Park to the fancy new playground and I propped him right down in the sandbox. He was there for ten seconds before three different kids crawled over to him to give him a shovel or a bucket. It was really darn cute to watch him interact with these other babes. Check it out.
